A delicious 100% vegetable ice cream
That’s it, we’re at the gates of summer and the desire for ice cream is starting to arrive (at least for me ^^). Then it is time for me to share with you the ideal recipe to have fun in a healthy and balanced way, a quick dessert to make and 100% vegetable: a delicious nice cream!
What is a “nice cream”?
Nice cream is a light, light, vegetable ice cream composed mainly of bananas. On this basis, all delicacies are possible by adding other fruits, milk and / or vegetable yogurt, nuts, chocolate chips, etc.
How to make a nice cream?
This is where you will understand why I love nice cream so much, it’s very simple and quick to make! The bananas are cut into rings and then frozen. I recommend freezing them flat and not in a freezer bag so as not to end up with a large block which will be hard to mix. If you want to add other fruits, do the same and freeze them. At the time of tasting, you just need to add a little yogurt or vegetable milk to thin (I usually put a mix of the two) and then mix!
How to decorate your nice cream?
Like a traditional ice cream, for more indulgence I encourage you to customize your nice cream with toppings: chocolate chips, fresh fruit, dried fruit,… let your imagination run wild!
I love adding granola over it to bring a touch of crisp and to have fun in any balance. To accompany this nice cream, I set my sights on organic and healthy granola from the brand Les Fruits Détendus . Gluten-free, sugar-free and oil-free I find them perfect: delicious, healthy and above all ultra-crisp with their shape of small triangular nuggets.
They are available in 8 flavors: cocoa / banana, fig / apricot, apple / cinnamon, cocoa / hazelnut, strawberry / raspberry, coconut / passion fruit, cocoa granola / peanut and my little favorite coconut / almond granola . Although I have not yet tasted the new cocoa / peanuts which I think will please me a lot!
Which blender to use for nice cream?
Indispensable equipment to make your nice cream: a blender (or a menu mixer with a blade). Be sure to choose it powerful enough because it will have to quickly mix the ingredients so that they remain frozen, without overheating otherwise everything will melt and you will have a smoothie rather than a nice cream;) Personally I use my Super Blender Artisan Kitchen Aid which I already told you about in my oatmeal muffin recipe 😉
- 1 mixer / blender
- 4 bananas
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 100 g vegetable yogurt with coconut milk
- 10 cl almond milk
- Peel the bananas then cut them into slices, distribute them flat on a dish and put in the freezer for 1 night.
- Put the frozen bananas in the bowl of your blender then add the peanut butter, yogurt and almond milk. Blend until you get a smooth texture.
- Put the nice cream in bowls and add the topping of your choice: crispy granola, fruit, nuts, etc.
